Curly hair can gain different types of volume and movement according to the hairstyle you choose to adopt. For Guilherme Araújo, Redken Artist from Porto Alegre, Brazil, there is no right or wrong when it comes to curls. "The important thing is that women opt for a hairstyle that enhances their waves and guarantees the desired effect," he said. The hairstylist spoke with Segredos de Salão and told how the blunt, layered, and fringed stylings can be used when talking about curls, and his main tips for how to maintain and style the look for those who want to invest in a capillary transformation. Check it out!

CURLY HAIR WITH BLUNT STYLES: SEE HOW TO INVEST IN A CHIC AND AUTHENTIC LOOK FOR YOUR CURLS
According to Guilherme, the blunt cut is indicated for women who want more disciplined curls. "Thanks to its uniform design, this styling keeps the curls under control and creates a beautiful volume for the look. On the other hand, the natural movement of the hair must be respected, otherwise, the whole look might end a bit heavy", he explained, highlighting that blunt styles can be done in long, medium, or short lengths.

LAYERED STYLES CAN GIVE YOUR CURLS A LOT MORE MOVEMENT
The hair specialist says that this style is one of the most suitable and indicated for curly hair. "Depending on the technique we use, we can create more or less volume for the curls. Therefore, it is essential to talk to the hairstylist before the transformation and explain the exact effect you are looking for", he suggested, explaining that the smaller the layers, the more volume you will get for your look.

Another good thing about layered stylings is the movement they can create in your hair. "If the client is looking for curls with a natural balance, it is worth investing in cutting with more elongated shapes, which also guarantees the effect of less volume", he said.
EXPERT TELLS HIS TIPS FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO ADOPT CURLY FRINGES
According to Guilherme, there is still a lot of fear about adopting bangs in curly hair. "There is no reason for that, despite the curls being a bit more rebellious than straight hair, it is possible to use medium and short frayed styles, that will highlight even more the beauty of your curls", he guaranteed. The expert's tip for those who want to invest in the styling is to choose the model that best matches your preferences, it can be shorter, longer, blunt, or lateral.
Regarding the best way to style your bangs, the expert suggests Redken's Ringlet Curvaceous leave-in be applied in your hair still wet, then leave it dry naturally if you can or use a hairdryer to model it, always trying to preserve the natural forms of your curls. "Having regular haircuts is also important to keep your bangs looking good. If you let your curly fringe go too long without a cut it might start to look motionless and heavy, and we don't want that to happen!", he completed.
